(Knock, knock.) “It’s me, change, I am coming in…”

Wednesday on Facebook I posted “it’s like Pixar’s Toy Story – changes are happening – and they are good/great!”  The song’s lyrics are actually, “strange things are happening to me”. Yes, change can be strange.

Why?  Perspective, attitude and choice.

Tuesday, EdOptions (Educational Options) was acquired/merged with Plato.  There is a lot of excitement as we team up and wonder about …change.  However, this ripple effect is evident throughout industry trends in online learning; companies large and small are teaming up to even the playing field and provide more educational options to the entire education market.

Change is imminent whether you reflect on the transitions of:

  • floppy disk to USB flash drives
  • walkie talkies, military like mobile phones to iPhones, iPads & flexible screens
  • worksheets to blended/hybrid classrooms using online learning for K-Adult learning

Since change comes in all areas of life at varying stages and degrees, we need to reflect and prepare to adjust, adapt and overcome to hopefully be an influential and a productive member in our circles of influence.

The bullet train is approaching the station for loading and unloading.  The steam engines are in a museum or amusement park.  Whether you call it survival of the fittest or life as we know it, what you do with and how you handle change is a key ingredient in business and life.

Change is knocking, coming in, how do you respond?

About jasonefennell

Hi! I am Jason Fennell and I partner with educators to incorporate successful online learning solutions that differentiate, individualize and promote the ultimate goal of student achievement. Following my first six years out of college, I chose to teach life skills to high school and community college students in northeast Texas. Students learned problem solving strategies, even though they are known as Algebra 1, Geometry and Development Math. HOW CAN I HELP YOU? My patient and persistent algebraic skills come in handy when you are looking to improve student performance. Having led classrooms, I am a great partner for transitioning and staging effective virtual learning solutions across your district. As I admit, my wife is right. If I were digging ditches, I would be the best ditch digger! You will find me ambitious and constantly seeking ways to improve the partnerships, processes and procedures by which educators leverage our online/web-based solutions via Edmentum.
